A page dedicated to discuss and solve all adsense issues, big or small

Background

I started my travel site in 2018 and had my fair share of AdSense issues. Unfortunately, there are no sites/blogs which covers or can rectify all these problems, including on AdSense forums/troubleshooting FAQs itself.

So here, I have consolidated the problems and their available solutions. Hope it helps!

Auto Ads (In-Page, Anchor, Vignette) Not Showing

  • Takes time to appear, up to 48 hours (sometimes longer).
  • Ensure your ad code is implemented correctly.
  • Ensure your webpages are not in your “Page Exclusion” list.
  • Ensure your ad serving is not restricted or disabled, or your account has not been suspended (If yes, see below)
  • For Mobile: Ensure your website does not have slow loading times. https://www.thinkwithgoogle.com/intl/en-gb/feature/testmysite/

Ads Appearing Everywhere Within Page Body (Ugly and/or Out Of Control)

  • This problem is due to allowing “In-Page Ads”. By activating this feature, you cannot control where AdSense places your ads on your page.
  • Adjusting the “Ad Load” bar does not have much effect on the amount of in-page ads. It seems to be effective only for Anchor and Vignette ads.
  • The only solution to managing WHERE your ads appear on your page is to deactivate “In-Page Ads” (see below) and manually code the ads within preset areas within the page (e.g. many sites place an ad at the very top and/or bottom of the page or article, or just below the banner header) .

Remove Ads Within The Page Body (Deactivate In-Page Ads)

  • To remove auto-ads within the page body, unselect “In-Page Ads” and click “Apply to Site”. It will take time for changes to take effect.
  • To remove auto-ads on or near the page header (top of page), you may first have to remove the Auto Ads code entirely then re-add it again (due to a system glitch).

Invalid Clicks & Impressions | Account Suspended

  • For temporary suspensions, the only choice is to wait it out (usually 30 days) and DO NOT do anything more which violates AdSense policy, such as clicking on your own ads or getting friends to do so. Google algos are really sophisticated at weeding out fake ad clicks so DON’T RISK IT.

Invalid User Traffic | Ad Serving Limited or Disabled

  • If majority of your viewers are from “red-flagged” countries such as Russia or China, you may get this error message. Boost your viewer traffic % from more legit sources (e.g. your home country or viewers from developed nations) via Facebook posts, social media, or ads.
  • Google will constantly review your website and once it deems it “clean”, your limitations will be lifted.
  • Also ensure your site does not violate any AdSense policies, such as illegal content, “empty-shell” spoofing, clickbait, spam blog (Splog), or is affiliated/linked to untrusted, banned, or low quality 3rd-parties.

Account Disabled or Banned

  • I have not encountered this issue (thankfully) but it seems to be almost impossible to be overturn their decision.
